The small Lily-pad type of plants floating on the top are Frogbit. The Frogbit in the pic below contain plants that sat in the box for 6 days! during shipment. They are coming around and looking much better. Frogbit is a small pond plant that is easy to grow and grows like a weed. In 3 months I expect it to cover the top of the water and to be throwing out excess.

In the pix below you can see the Anachris plants floating underneath the Frogbit. Anachris is a Brazilian water-weed that is easy to come by and easy to care for. It grows Planted or floating, in high light or low.

As you can see in the pic below, the Arafura can move around without much concern for predators from above. Easy to care for plants provide top-coverage and natural quality filtration.

Going up for air is no longer a traumatic, stress-filled experience.

And now the Arafura can breath easy knowing that it is hidden from any predators above.

The best overall places that I have found to buy pond and aquatic plants are Ebay and Aquabid. Plants to consider: Frobit, Anachris, Parrot's Feather, Hornwort, Java Moss. I am sure that there are others, but these will grow like weeds and are very easy to take care of.
