I currently use 2 of these Hide Boxes for the 1 snake--that gives the snake options as far as Temp and Light/Darkness.

I take 2 of these Small Kitty Litter Pans and stack them together. However, in order to allow all the air out and prevent the transmission of Light into the Hide Box--I off-set the air holes.

Then I made these PVC "Roots" to simulate the Multi-directional Contact Security that Pandanus Tree Roots offer.

Add some Canned A/C Foam and a couple different colors of Spray Paint: and there Ya go! If you notice, the hide boxes are sitting perpendicular to each other. The snake does move from one to the other based upon Light. Because of the light coming in through the Closed Blind behind the tank--the snake usually stays in the hidebox on the right: Entrance facing Away from the Light. For Spray Paint I use Krylon Fusion, because it is Aquarium Safe. I let it dry for a day or 2, and then its good to go. The A/c Foam is also Safe once its dry--give it a couple of days to be sure. Note the Large Rocks on top of the Hide boxes--the snake still manages to move the hide boxes around a little bit.
